Mapa mental - PLE

Hey! I’ll review with you my PLE for activity Mapa mental.

Instructions: Create a mind map that relates your PLE with your English learning strategies and its application to your work or studies. 

Personal Learning Environment is known as PLE, has various benefits that I want to highlight:  

• Increase self learning.

• Students choose how to learn.

• Empower the apprentice.

• Students evaluate what works for them.

• Personalized learning without guidance from the teacher.

I thought about those tools I've been selecting since I started learning English, and I can't count how many there were. But for the exercise, I listed current and meaningful tools along the years and organized them by groups.

Visual tools: This group is made up of videos and streaming platforms like Netflix and YouTube. I get bored easily, so I enjoy scrolling for different content or series. 

Listening tools: The group is made up of Spotify and YouTube Music. Since I was a little girl I've listened to English music like 80s and 90s rock and pop. 

Vocabulary and Pronunciation Tools: This is made up of social media and a mobile app. For example, I follow @yoryantonio on Instagram,  who makes comedy about the pros and cons of English and Spanish. On the other hand, I have the Cambridge Dictionary Plus app on my phone, if I need to look for phrasal verbs or synonyms.

Grammar tools: This group is made for Duolingo and Inglés Básico A.Ghio D. I used the first one for basic grammar and the second one for practicing modal verbs.

Practicing Conversation: Talking to myself in front of the mirror, it was a simple and practical way to make English part of my daily routine. 

English Academies: I started my journey by taking classes at Colombo Americano Cali when I was 11 years old to improve my English at high school. Later, I took classes at International Alliance Multilingual Centers to achieve a B1 level.

Digital Library: I subscribed to the library Red de Centros Colombo Americanos for reading fantasy and romantic books. When you read something you like, the learning can be interesting. 

List of topics of interest: You have to be motivated. Write a list of topics that you want to learn about and follow accounts, channels, videos of different platforms. 

In conclusion, each person has a PLE that complements his or her English studies, because learning a language is a personal journey.
