Video Presentación - Etherington Brothers

Hi, I’m Diany. I come from Desarrollo de Medios Gráficos at SENA and in this blog post, I’ll talk about making an Etherington Brothers video for Video Presentación.

Instructions: According to the topic studied in the first level, choose a character whom you admire within your field to describe him or her in English. Identifying personal characteristics about age, nationality, place of residence, hobbies and work activities.

I was excited to choose the Etherington brothers for my class exercise because I admire them as comic artists. They’re known for their free tutorials in the How to Think When You Draw series, which can help you draw whatever stuff you want easily. There are more than 500 tutorials and free download material that you can find on their blog http://theetheringtonbrothers.blogspot.com/ or their Instagram account @etheringtonbrothers.

Turning back to the video, when I was writing a script draft, I wrote about Lorenzo and Robin Etherington's career. Sort of like, They are comic, book, and film creators who worked for Disney and DreamWorks on such franchises as Transformers, Star Wars, How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, Wallage and Gromit, among others. Later, I talked with my English teacher María José, and she reminded me the exercise should be personal. Telling about how those brothers affected me as a graphic designer student.

With corrections in mind, I made up and dressed up nicely and practiced pronunciation so hard because it’s my weakness. I recorded videos several times until they turned out well. Then, I started editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, and it was difficult because the interface is not intuitive.

Once the video was done, I posted it on YouTube in my personal channel.

I think this class exercise could be better if we'd practice phonetic pronunciation from the beginning of the English course, and it's necessary to teach editing basic tips. English is difficult for a few people in my class. They struggled with verb to be and simple present, I can imagine how they could feel trying to talk about someone. On the other hand, editing videos is a complex task because it requires many steps before, during, and after editing. None of our teachers have taught a class of video editing tips that demand high quality.

For now, it’s everything. I hope you enjoyed my review of my exercise.
