Foro - Sustainable Graphic Design

I’m Diany again, and take a seat because we’ll review my forum entry called “Sustainable Graphic Design’s Business Idea: Tote Bags” for Foro.

Instructions: Make a contribution inside the forum, talking about a design idea that includes sustainable design or environmental ideas. 

First, I started my forum entry by talking about how graphic design has the power to address the world’s view and raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable practices for industry. Right now, it is called sustainable design.

My design idea was creating tote bags with recycled materials with a minimalist design. The objective’s project is a second life for unwanted jeans and highlights Cali’s wildlife. 

My tote bags are going to achieve 4 points: 

1. Giving second life to unwanted jeans will reduce pollution.

2. Each tote bag will have a bird illustration inspired by 565 species of birds from Santiago de Cali.

3. I’ll hire artisans to embroider and print my illustrations. It would help to reduce unemployment and improve the city’s economy. 

4. The embroidery technique is a sustainable practice for the manufacturing process. And for prints, I will use water-based inks because they are made from acrylic resins, hybrid resins, and polyurethane.

This idea was born at a time when I had a creative block. It was an idea, among others, that I write in case I start a small business. But it didn't come true, it's still an idea. 

If I had to change something about this activity, it would be the format, maybe for an illustration or mockup.
